    The following link should help to clarify some questions within the videos in regards to the term “mains”

    Mains, typically refers to the incoming power to the home appliance/electronic device.

    Also, this link supports as to what I heard before. Japanese voltages are 100, US/Canada is 120, and Europe is 230 +/-10% (to allow original 220 and 240 to survive). the +/-10% May apply to all as US/Canada voltages may be 110-125 I believe.

    I never thought about that before, I just assumed everyone called it mains! I’d guess the term is used in the same way as “water main” or “gas main”.
