    I think his demos …
I think his demos are pretty decent. From what I seen he does give each amp its own justice.

    yeah, I guess it …
yeah, I guess it depends on which side the speaker is on. On my HRDx, the speaker is on the left (when facing), so that would put his mic way off of the speaker. But if that one is set up with the speaker on the right, then it’d be fine

    Actually when you …
Actually when you mic an amp you always point the mic to the outer edge of the speaker, but yeah it would have been nice to hear the amp a bit louder

He’s a fine player and it sounds good! He’s just trying to show the features. Damn! If you guys who complain about EVERYTHING and bash EVERYONE why don’t you get a job doing demonstrations and show us how it’s done?

    I agree!
    It sound …

    I agree!
It sound like he has the volume on the guitar turned down to almost ZERO output!!?

But it general youtube is not the place to check out amps other than just for fun!

This amp has awsome clean sound IRL!

I tried once with a cheap strat copy, and it just blew so much life into that crappy guitar that I could have gone on for hours…

Also the drive channel delivers what i call REAL thick distortion…NOT super high gain Marshall stuff, but just THICK!!!

    if u can’t decide, …
if u can’t decide, grab the next guitar you plan to buy off the rack and plug it in. that may help. Are you talking about the 15″ Peavy Delta Blues? Big case with little protection of the tubes in the back? Not the best traveling amp. I liked the Peavy 30 Classic better. I think the Strat with the Vox AC15 or 30 is hard to beat.

    the fender probably …
the fender probably has the nod for clean tones, but the delta blues (210) has a way better drive channel
but the best thing to do is go to your local guitar shop and check it out yourself

    My favorite band in …
My favorite band in the world is Guns n’ Roses. I also love AC/DC, Led Zeppelin, Jimi Hendrix, Metallica, Nirvana. Also love soft blues sound and good cleans are a must.

What’s the best amp in the $500-$1000 range. I’m thinking of Peavey Classic 30.

    play the delta …
play the delta blues… with the big speaker I thought it was way too muddy and just not dynamic enough.. just seemed slow to respond. Hard to describe. I’d look at the smaller peavy possibly. It’s your taste though.

    what should i get?

    what should i get?

    This guys demos …
This guys demos make everything sound like a solid state bedroom amp with a coat thrown over it. SUCH SHIT.

If you are thinking about getting this amp, check a different video, and I suggest it, it’s a beautiful amp, the first tube amp I ever played, immediately fell in love with it.

I don’t really like drive channel on the Hot Rod. I have one, but I got it modded by Omega Amps. It sounds amazing now.

i had a love hate relationship with mine. bought it new in 2005 and it constantly broke down. at least 5 times in the shop with a 3 week turn around. and i only had it 8 months! fender would not exchange it though the warranty. so i sold it for a loss and i will never own a fender product again. it did sound good when it worked.

the mexi tele i bought new was also poorly made with many flaws……
